PROJECT BACKGROUND
Moat Homes is a leading housing association operating in the South East of England, providing high quality homes available through shared ownership sale and managing over 20,000 homes.
Located in Erith, London, James Watt Way is a residential development comprising of 40 fully occupied properties.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Miller Knight were appointed by Moat Homes to undertake fire compartmentation remediation works across all floors of the establishment.
Fire engineering consultants, Tenos undertook fire risk assessments across the internal and external compartmentation in the block, which Miller Knight confirmed the extents of the survey.
Scope of works included:
- Establishing a site welfare area.
- Isolation and removal of services, including boilers, radiators, sockets, and switches.
- Temporary removal of bathroom suites and kitchens.
- Strip out boarding to reinstate with the Tenos report.
- Extend 30-min walls to underside of compartment floor and make good.
- Reinstatement works, including kitchen, bathroom, finishes, tiling, etc.
- Remove external render and non-compliant cavity barriers.
- Reinstate compliant cavity barriers and render.
