PROJECT BACKGROUND

NHBC are a leading UK independent provider of warranty and insurance for new-build homes with aims to raise standards in house building by championing high-quality homes and protecting homeowners.

Based on the scenic coastline of Bournemouth, Honeycombe Beach is a residential property owned by NHBC comprising of 169 fully occupied properties.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Following a fire risk assessment, Miller Knight were appointed as principal contractor to conduct remedial fire protection works to the ‘Corfe Block’ of the development.

Scope of works included:

• Remedial fire protection installations, which involved fire compartmentation and cavity barrier installations.
• Complete removal and reinstatement of internal compartment walls.
• Removal of existing kitchens, bathrooms, fixtures, and fittings, removed to facilitate new compartment walls.
• Reinstatement and redecoration of kitchens and bathrooms.
• Erection of scaffolding.
• Reinstatement and re-rendering of masonry.

To expedite the programme, NHBC decanted the establishment to enable us to work across multiple properties.

Following successful delivery of the initial works in line with the scheduled programme and within the assigned budget, we were appointed by NHBC to conduct further works across ten further blocks within the development.

All works were completed within the specified timeframe and were certified with a FIRAS certificate of conformity.
