PROJECT BACKGROUND

Moat Homes is a leading housing association operating in the South East of England, providing high quality homes available through shared ownership sale and managing over 20,000 homes.

Located close to the River Thames, Cygnet House is a residential block managed by Moat Homes, consisting of six levels with 34 properties within, which are fully occupied.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Miller Knight were appointed by Moat Homes to undertake fire compartmentation remediation works across all floors.

Tenos undertook fire risk assessments for the internal and external compartmentation across the block.

Miller Knight confirmed the extent of the survey and submitted a scope of works plan to include the following:

• Establishing a site welfare.
• Isolation and removal of services including boilers, radiators, sockets, and switches.
• Temporary removal of bathroom suites and kitchens.
• Strip-out of one-hour compartment walls and re-build.
• Strip-out 30-minute protected hallways and re-build.
• Reinstatement works including kitchen, bathroom, finishes, tiling, etc.
• External works, including removal of cladding panels to install cavity barriers.

• RESIDENT SUPPORT: Miller Knight has an on-site resident liaison officer to support communication with residing occupants.
• CONSIDERATE WORKING: To minimise disruption to the surrounding operational area, Miller Knight worked collaboratively with the client to create on-site establishments to support site logistics and deliveries.
