PROJECT BACKGROUND

Bouygues UK is a leading construction and property development company in the UK, operating in various locations across the nation and providing high-quality new build properties.

Located in the city centre of Reading, Mayer House is a six-storey residential development comprising of 388 properties.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Following a fire risk assessment which identified non-conformance issues with the passive fire protection installation within communal areas, service risers, and plant rooms, Miller Knight were appointed as principal contractor to rectify the defective installations to the occupied properties and establishment.

Scope of works included:

• Installation of passive fire protection to ground floor plant rooms, service areas, and risers.
• Installation of missing fire dampers to existing ductwork – this enhanced the fire rating of walls within the rooftop plant room.
• Floor and wall protection.
• Reinstatement and redecoration following installations.

Full resident liaison services and site management were provided to aid with scheduling and programme management.
