PROJECT BACKGROUND
The College of Policing is a professional body for everyone working across policing, providing training courses, programmes, and other learning opportunities. It is an operationally independent non-departmental public body.
Based on the outskirts of Coventry, the Cannock Building is the primary training facility for the college, utilised for their cohort of over 500 students.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Following a third-party survey that was carried out and identified fire safety issues within the Cannock Building, Miller Knight were appointed as principal contractor to conduct refurbishment works with remedial fire protection services.
Scope of works included:
- Installing fire-rated partitions and door-sets within the communal corridor areas to the lower floors.
- Design and installation of fire curtains.
- LED lighting upgrade.
- Fire alarm upgrade.
- Suspended ceiling alteration.
- Decoration and refurbishment works.
